And fuck ESPN and the NFLN you pricks can't go to a commercial before the #1 pick.

Let us old-school football guys take a moment appreciate to the fact that the Titans earned the #1 overall pick the old-fashioned way.   Not by tanking or by trading up, but by simply being

I'd hate Hunter. The Titans best position is likely CB and you don't take a WR that high. If the Titans traded down to 3 and Carter went 2 I'd rather trade down again and maybe go for someone like Mem

The Air Raid Ward played in isn't any less gimmicky.....Saying that Ward seems to have a much of traits Mariota never had - leadership, hard work, processing ability, and throwing into tigher windows.

Mariota had that insane streak of not throwing picks in training camp (actually a big red flag) which I suspect Ward will not replicate either!

The fact the rest of the league knew while the Titans traded up in the 2nd for him makes it bad.  Handing him the starting job without competition after his shitty rookie year was even worse.

The first part.. 100%

The second part.. meh. He produced about on par as good as Tannehill during his rookie year and people still think Tannehill was great and should have started all that season. By that logic alone, it means that Levis should get the gig the next year.

It was smart to start Levis because look at where it got us. It was always a win-win scenario. If we win- we win. If we lose, we win by getting to draft high. Rudolph wasnt it. Tannehill wasnt it.. they would just ruin our draft slot if they were better (they werent). Any other scenario at ALL (outside of a miracle franchise QB falling in our laps) and we don't have the opportunity to draft high and grab a possible franchise QB / trade for a fuckton of picks.

Tannehill was terrible that season

Ward didn’t play in an Air Raid at Miami?

Miami’s HC runs a pro style offense, Cristobal was Justin Herbert’s HC at Oregon.

Now, yes the triangles aren’t everything, but it is something. Ward has issues with deep ball accuracy, and arm mechanics. That said, he was as elite as you can be it terms of production .

I said at the time it was a huge red flag while most were glazing over him. I eventually bought in but I remember that vividly saying he wasn't testing himself enough if he wasn't throwing interceptions. You obviously don't want to look like Levis in TC, but the opposite end is seemingly just as bad because it limits you in live action.

One of the worst plays I can remember was the Baltimore murder game (9 sacks 13 QB hits) where the defense put 9 in the box and then completely disregarded the PA and only rushed 3. Mariota was a fucking deer in the headlights because all he could read was the middle of the field. His X WR was wide open on a comeback singled up outside the left hash and he just completely didn't even look that way. Really terrible play design but Mariota was just a duck when he didn't have the quick hitters over the middle.

Yes, he was. Yet the same people saying Levis shouldnt have been given the job, they wanted (at minimum) Tanny back as competition. Which, if you are competing against the Mason Rudolphs and washed up Tennehill's of the world, then any competition is pointless and its just a better idea to let Levis sink/swim/learn outright.

Handing Levis a job was a mistake and why they have the #1 pick in the draft, which absolutely was not their intention.....the dude showed up to camp wearing a QB1 T-shirt...and then proceeded to stink it up in TC and crumble in the first 5 weeks of the season.

No way he would have won an open competition with a credible QB and that includes Tannehill.
