Given the character was a football coach and knew nothing about soccer, no.  The relevance to what an American soccer coach would encounter isn't that.

The show wasn't about soccer - it was about relationships.  Either you watched an episode or two or it completely went over your head.

And fuck ESPN and the NFLN you pricks can't go to a commercial before the #1 pick.

Let us old-school football guys take a moment appreciate to the fact that the Titans earned the #1 overall pick the old-fashioned way.   Not by tanking or by trading up, but by simply being

I'd hate Hunter. The Titans best position is likely CB and you don't take a WR that high. If the Titans traded down to 3 and Carter went 2 I'd rather trade down again and maybe go for someone like Mem

That's the caricature my friend.  That they know nothing about the sport but are good rah rah guys.  I would suggest you don't know much about the soccer culture of which you talking about. 😉

You can like the show- that's fine.  I can't stand it.  For those "in the know" the whole premise is an inside joke - making fun of americans.

You think that applies to actual soccer players/coaches that go overseas?  Or the guy at the Guardian does?  That's just a bizarre and simplistic take on the show.

Again - the show had the soccer team as a backdrop but the storylines were all about leadership and relationships (personal, romantic, working).  The actual soccer related stuff was pretty minimal.

So…..can we get back to the topic of this thread?

Jim Wyatt was on the Music City Audible podcast today with Melo and Graver and the summary was basically

- the team hasn't made a final decision on the #1 pick yet

- makes sense to assume the most likely outcome is they draft Cam Ward

- they are leaving the door open just in case the Browns go full Jimmy Haslam and present a ridiculous offer.

On my list to watch but not yet.  Have heard good things.  His other series Lioness was solid.

I haven't seen that one yet. I'll have to put it on mine.

Sources: Washington State WR Kyle Williams visited the #Patriots this week and has at least five more team visits scheduled in the coming weeks, with the potential for more.

Williams is coming off an exceptional season, recording 70 catches for 1,198 yards and 14 TDs. @CSimmsQB ranked him as the No. 2 WR in this year’s draft.
