It’s a few months old, but it plays out over and over again with Trumpers, regardless of the topic, regardless of the observable facts at hand.

For what it’s worth, I don’t have a problem with Trump or Biden stumbling over a word or using the wrong word;  that happens to everybody from time to time.    And the fact is, both candidates are at an age where such flubs are more and more likely to happen….but these are the nominees the parties (and voters) have chosen.  
 

A huge red flag would be a complete shutdown a la Mitch McConnell…that would pretty much end either candidate’s chances of winning the election.   But I’m not aware of that happening with either of these guys…not yet, anyway.  
 

As far as Trump’s hypocrisy and talking from both sides of his mouth…that’s just who he is;  it’s been his MO from day one.   But supporters willfully ignore it and the national media refuses to press him on it…thus giving him free reign to keep doing it.

Pretty much (maybe not even pretty much) nothing would end Trump's chances.  It's unfortunate but that's where we are.

Hardcore MAGA followers would vote for Trump even if he walked around on stage naked and masturbating, shit himself, and stroked out while raping a newborn baby on live TV.  They wouldn’t care…they’d just find a way to blame Biden and the radical leftist Democrats.
 

Fortunately, the truly brainwashed MAGA followers are a small minority…probably no more than 15-20% of the population.  
 

  The rest of the American population (including Republicans)  are more moderate and would readily acknowledge that a candidate who freezes up like Mitch McConnell isn’t even fit to be a greeter at Walmart, much less the leader of the free world.  
 

Not that droves of Republican voters would suddenly vote Biden;  they just wouldn’t vote at all.

How about if a candidate incited actual insurrection, tried to prevent recognition of a democratic election and said they'd persecute political opponents if re-elected? Then you'd still have a neck and neck race. 

 

Frankly, I find the idea people would turn against Trump because he blanked for a bit to be truly naive. Maybe if he kept doing it over and over.
