I'll say it.  WTF would anyone want to acquire and pay Lamar Jackson?  He's not come close to his 2019 season production wise and for as much grief as people give guys like Tannehill, Cousins, and Dak

Lamar got tagged on March 7th before free agency opened and didn't receive the first offer.  The calendar isn't his problem.    It's his recent performance, cost, injury history, and the fac

Thankfully Mrs Amy hasn't come out and ruled out Lamar. Wouldn't that just be an incredible way for this to end. Would be crazy around here

There is no real evidence we are in the qb shopping aisle.  Also that salary cap thing is a bit of an issue.

I dont know why it received laughter here but this thing is absolutely headed towards collusion accusations (it may have already begun).

It is suspicious that several teams very quickly let it be known that they were out on a young successful QB. That's unprecedented.

Even if they are out, nobody actually announces it

I don't know anything but I don't remember this happening with Cousins.

Lol. He's missed ten games the past two years due to lower body injuries when his legs have always been his major weapon. He's Vick 2.0 with a gimp leg asking for 250 million guaranteed. He's an idiot taking money out of his own pocket.

I don't even understand the collusion argument anyway - what is the difference between collusion, and every team just not wanting to dish out a fully guaranteed deal to Lamar like Watson's deal? if no team wants to do this then why would they need to collude?

It's beyond stupid to immediately think this is what's happening. The guy has been injured down the stretch 2 years in a row and is as much a runner as a passer. He wants a fully guaranteed contract and the idiots wonder why teams immediately balk at not only paying him that (with no agent so they have to deal with him directly) while also giving up 2 firsts.

The Ravens were idiots for offering him 150 million guaranteed in the first place and have apparently learned their lesson.

It should speak volumes how uninterested the Ravens remained in extending this dude at any point during his rookie contract, and even louder now that they remain this far apart on a deal. They clearly don't view him as what he views himself. Along with some of the weirdo fans and players around the league that cling to that MVP award from 4 years ago.

They offered him 150 million guaranteed last year...

I have been saying it for years, the QB salaries are ridiculous.   It cripples teams to pay these salaries for QB who can't even lift the talent level of their team.  But, but, Mahomes.  Mahomes showed us what Mahomes can do @KC.

But when you pay the top guys, dumb teams will pay QBs who can't do half of what the top guys can.  I gtd you there were teams who would have given Lamar a record deal last year.  Arizona?  There are others.

This is why the Ravens can field good teams as I said before, they know who and what to pay.  They have won SBs.   JRob was a first time GM entrusted with running the Titans.  DeCosta is the Ravens GM.  He was groomed by Ozzie Newsome.  Ozzie is still there too, helping.  They have an organization running things.  If they see weakness, they take care of it.

Look at us.  New first time GM, again.  Where's the organization?

I love the Titans.  My team.  I want my organization to be one of the top organizations.

He'll get more than 150 guaranteed and the Ravens would still give him that right now

No one knows Lamar Jackson better than the Ravens

They are allowing a 26 year old former MVP to hit the market where teams can sign him to an offer sheet and only give up 2 1st round picks(nothing for a 26 yr old MVP).

That's alarmingly telling. They do not believe he's worth what he's asking. They're prepared to go on without him.

He's fools gold

Lamar Jackson is a good player.  He's going to make a team better.  He's not a top 3 QB though and he wants to get paid like one.  Good luck to him.  I do think someone will end up giving him a big deal, just not the 250 million guaranteed that he's looking for.

It's hilarious listening to the national NFL media discuss this. I was listening to the Ringer and they did their podcast before all these teams came out publicly saying they weren't interested. They are basically mocking the Ravens and talking about how teams will give Jackson a Deshaun Watson deal and only have to give up two 1st round picks.

My guess is Jackson goes back to the Ravens on the franchise tag.

Lamar Jackson is an exciting player and a good FF player. What he isn't is a good pocket passer. You better be able to execute a drop back passing game to be a true SB contender. He's not good at it and therefore teams won't pay the premium. Teams mistakenly thought Watson was.
