Interesting story from Brett Yarris (who does work with college players preparing them for the draft) here about Vrabel reportedly telling another OT Yarris was working with that the Titans would select him if he was still available in the 2020 draft but JRob and the scouting staff overruled Vrabel and went for the SEC pedigree in Isaiah Wilson.

Robert Hunt and Ezra Cleveland were the only 2 OL drafted in 2nd round, and both are guards. Robinson would have been laughed out of the draft if he picked either of those guys in round 1.

Vrabel gaining more personnel control is not a good thing - regardless of who the new GM is - I promise you that.

Vrabel's comment "who is he going to throw it to?" about the receivers/Malik is a little more cryptic now.    I loved Jrob, but I love AAS more. She ain't fucking around. Ya love to see it.

Interesting. There really wasn't any OT on the board that was worth a 1st round pick. Ezra Cleveland was the next off the board in the late 2nd. Could've been Josh Jones who went early third. He had some 1st round hype.

After the digging that @titaninpgh and BTiger did, it makes me more concerned about Vrabel...

They’d be right tackles here under Vrabel most likely.

A lot of people laughed at him for taking Wilson.

There were a lot of members of the draft media that had Wilson as a late round 2 or even round 3 prospect.

Or this is could be a non-story and the Tackle Vrabel wanted was picked earlier and they’re not stating that in the story to make it look bad?

Nope in that video Yarris said the player was still available and JRob decided to take Wilson.

It still could if they would give him a chance at the position he played all through college. Daley has no business being there.

That's actually exactly what has happened with Josh Jones. He was a LT in college, didn't play much his rookie season, his 2nd season he bounced between RG and RT and was a disaster, and this season he's playing well at LT

I think everyone is grasping at straws. There is some sense as to why we made the move based on our performance in the playoffs and against good-to-great teams.

We're not good enough to compete with them consistently. Even if it was out of necessity, the style of play we built doesn't equate to many Super Bowl wins unless we get lucky.

And now our throwback style is being stopped, Derrick Henry can no longer be superhuman, and we're lacking in WAY too many areas to elevate the passing game.

Time to make some drastic changes before we run our way into oblivion.

All the holes you guys talk about are insurmountable to fix next to an aging QB and RB.

It's starting to look bleak unless our passing game takes over.

I’m sure Vrabel will suddenly have an epiphany and stop being a conservative run-first coach.
