The name just kinda went with that. But the name fit. Would've been nice if they'd wrangled the name from the company after whatever went wrong with them and made it their stadium brand. It still works in greek (Kolossaio) but i guess proper would be something like "stadia" Still. There has to be some sort of corporate contract and branding Nissan didnt want to dump. Still think odeon would sound the best if they went with something greek but thats a theater not a stadium. Edit: The acropolis would also be a nice nod to greek culture and naming a stadium after a citadel isn't a half bad misuse of the name. I'd still rather it be something closer to sports though. There's a large enough group that have heard of an acropolis and wouldn't realize that our acropolis would be the lowest point in the city rather than on a hill.
