So the guy who led the effort to file suit against the swing states , hoping Trump's supreme court would act to overturn the election results is a pos who was likely angling for a federal pardon... it's grotesquely comical. Credit to the repubs who did their investigation -- but reading through the story it sounds like the results against Paxton will be ignored by the legislature.

A Republican-led investigation on Wednesday accused Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton of committing multiple crimes in office — including felonies — during an extraordinary public airing of scandal and alleged lawbreaking that plunged one of the GOP’s conservative stars into new political and legal risk.

For more than three hours, investigators presented findings alleging Paxton sought to hide an affair, misused his office to help a donor, skirted protocols “grossly outside” norms and built a culture of fear and retaliation in his office. Investigators told the GOP-led House General Investigating Committee that there was evidence that Paxton repeatedly broke the law over the years, including by misusing official information, abusing his official capacity and retaliation....

It is utterly shocking that a prominent and self-righteous far-right MAGA extremist like Paxton would abuse his power and presume he’s above the law.

They don't even understand the concept of shame.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis signed a bill Wednesday that allows him to run for president while still serving as the Sunshine State’s governor — a move that came on the same day he filed paperwork to officially campaign for the Republican nomination.

Fucker did it the same day lol. I wonder if he signed the law or broke it and then signed it.

GOP Polling Memo Finds Big Swing to Democrats

May 25, 2023 at 4:43 pm EDT By Taegan Goddard 115 Comments

A Republican polling memo obtained by Roll Call finds “the generic ballot has shifted toward Democrats, with Republicans losing ground among independents on the abortion issue.”

The memo found “a 6 point swing in the last year on the Generic Senate ballot from R+3 to D+3” led overwhelmingly “by independent and new voters that identify abortion as one of their top issues.”

The poll had similar findings on the House side with “a 10 point swing in the last year on the Generic House Ballot from R+6 to D+4.”

Trump and the crazies are setting up a gop primary litmus test -- Jan6 revisionist history.  Can't wait to see more Trump rallies with hand on hearts while the Capitol is under siege by radicals. This along with the ongoing 2020 election denialism that party-leader Trump cannot quit , and how the GOP sees this as a winning strategy is bizzaro land.  There is nothing legitimate about this facade that's animating the current repub base.

Former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) on Thursday appeared to criticize Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) for saying he’ll consider pardoning Jan. 6 defendants if elected president, arguing that anyone with such plans “is not qualified” for the White House.

“Any candidate who says they will pardon Jan. 6 defendants is not qualified to be President,” Cheney wrote on Twitter.  DeSantis, who launched his 2024 campaign Wednesday, said Thursday that if elected, he would consider “on day one” pardoning defendants connected to the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol.

“On day one, I will have folks that will get together and look at all these cases, who people are victims of weaponization or political targeting, and we will be aggressive in issuing pardons,” DeSantis said on the “The Clay Travis & Buck Sexton Show” podcast when asked about whether he’ll consider pardoning the defendants, including Trump.
