Sad truth is Ashli Babbitt almost certainly would be alive today had she not fallen down the rabbit hole of Trump’s evil, self serving big lie. Any normal, well-adjusted person would see such behavior and think “Holy shit, WTF is wrong with these people?  Confronting and threatening a couple British tourists….just because they’re Brits?”

 

But evidently MAGA sees this as normal, perfectly acceptable behavior.  
 

Now granted, we’re not privvy to the circumstances or conversations that led up to this confrontation.  It’s entirely possible that the Brits asked an innocent question like “Begging your pardon…but what if Mr. Trump actually did exactly what all these witnesses say he did and he truly was guilty of falsifying business financial records?”

 

Asking MAGA to momentarily set aside their cult allegiance and respond to the reality of the situation would obviously piss them off to no end.  “Bitch, them is fightin’ words!”

UK has a unique perspective on US politics as they are still recovering from (still rationalizing for others) their experiences with Brexit, sold to the constituents by their Conservative party as a return to UK greatness, which has turned out to be nothing of the sort.  The heavy lean into immigration control, focusing mostly on certain groups was a big driver in animating voter turnout 8 years ago, and seems to have a parallel in our current politics.  Other similarities are the curious funding trails of astroturf organizations that led to the Kremlin.  The polls are pretty compelling that most Brits would vote to rejoin the EU asap, if given the chance.  oops

 

fwiw, the face of Brexit, Nigel Farage, has certainly lowered his profile and promises over the last 5 years while still finding time to boost Trump here in the USA every chance he gets. When asked if he accepts blame, he pivots and holds the government culpable for failing to implement Brexit rather than admit the fundamentally flawed strategy and copious empty promises along with fantastical Pollyanna solutions he was selling to the masses. again, sounds familiar.

After almost a decade, we can safely say the results are in:   MAGA has proven to be nothing more than a pathetic circle-jerk of lies, broken promises and hateful empty rhetoric.  And their gullible and pathetic followers keep eating it up, just as they’re told.
