No. Corporate greed. These same assholes are sitting on record profits while telling workers they don't have the money for pay raises. They will come up with any excuse in the book to avoid paying people what they are worth.

Thanks Reagan for destroying the middle class.

The Reagan expansion years marked a period of economic progress for middle class Americans. Middle class income increased 11 percent after adjustment for inflation, while nearly 20 million new jobs were created.

Shut the fuck up bitch boy. Busting up unions, cutting taxes that funded needed social programs, destroying pensions, etc have decimated the middle class. As usual you have no fucking clue what you are talking about.

Trump ran up the deficit by $7T, far more than any other president in history managed to do in a single 4-year term. So if you are blaming the deficit on inflation then it’s mostly on Trump.

Trump supporters will obviously blame this on the pandemic.

But I’m not mistaken, the deficit more than doubled during Trump’s first three years in office….BEFORE the pandemic hit.

It’s pretty hilarious hearing Republicans criticize the spending of the Biden administration for trying to clean up Trump’s mess.

I provided facts, while you provided your normal stupid opinion backed up by nothing.   The middle class prospered under Reagan, and that’s a fact.

You guys are so braindead. But what should I expect. You guys clearly don't understand that policies he enacted have long term ramifications.  40+ years of trickle down theory has us at a point where the largest gap between the rich and the poor that we have ever had. His economic policies enriched the already wealthy at the expense of the middle class. Ever since then mainstream republican policy has exacerbated the problem. There is a reason why trickle down economics was labeled "voodoo economics" by his own party opposition.

It's so weird how things are better under a Republican president than democrat the past 50 years. It's not because of Republican policies finally take place when a Democrat is in office. It's literally because there's less regulations, less taxes and tapping more into our own energy, it's not rocket science. Businesses are able to thrive, especially small businesses under Republican leadership. Now add in republicans want a securer border than democrats as well. People are taking their businesses away from democratic cities and moving here to the south so they can thrive.

You mean republicans wreck the economy and democrats clean up the mess because that's what has been happening.

Less regulation and taxes are not leading to economic prosperity. It's crazy how you guys always have EVERYTHING backwards.

Lower tax rates are why we have a massive federal deficit. Plus record income inequality. There is no historical correlation to raising or lowering tax rates and economic growth.

Lower regulations gave us a massive financial disaster, more air and water pollution, and monopolistic corporations running largely unchecked.

It wasn’t Reagan or his economic policies that drove the economy. It was the Federal Reserve. They jacked up rates under Carter to kill stagflation. When they finally lowered rates again and borrowing became cheap, the economy took off. Whenever borrowing money is cheap and easy it drives the economy. When the banks stop lending (like the Great Recession) or rates go up, the economy slows.

Rates go up to curb inflation which is worse with spending and borrowing. You can argue all you want. Taxation is to collect money for government services. Income inequality has nothing to do with taxes nor should they be used to pretend it will rectify the issue.

Economic growth occurs under many factors. High taxes, regulations do undermine it.

Keep reading Krugman, wrong every fucking time.
