Then every Senate Republican except Mitt Romney decided either that this was fine, or that it wasn’t abusive enough to justify removal, or that — as senators including Susan Collins, Rob Portman, Shelly Moore Capito optimistically put it — he had learned his lesson. Meanwhile, here’s a funny footnote to this long-forgotten episode in our distant past. Yesterday, Ukraine’s president announced the investigation. They don’t seem to understand why the US handing over billions of dollars would have restrictions or why we don’t want the same countries we are funding to start investigations at the behest of our government. The Burisma investigation, which had nothing to do with either Biden was already closed when Shokin was removed. It was actually worse than that, he would open phony investigations and then shake down the people he was 'investigating' to pay him off and he would close them without bringing a case in front of the courts; the reason there was the 'open investigation' against Burisma (which soley concerned pre Biden times) was that the oligarch behind Burisma told him to fuck off. So they did an audit of a case that already said no Hunter Biden wrong doing. So they agree that the evidence that was previously gathered came to that conclusion. Ok. The question is if all the evidence was gathered. Kinda like the Dems claiming the FISA apps were perfectly fine, and then Rosenstein just testified if he knew back when he signed the application what he knows now, he would not have signed it.
