How would you compare the fundamentals of "DJT" to BTC?

Seem a lot a like to me

I believe DJT is an exclusively money laundering operation.

Step 1: issue stock, sold at inflated valuations to parties who want to give DJT cash

Step 2: Press raves about $6B valuation, even though based on beneficial interest filings I think only $90m was traded on the market.

Step 3: value collapses because no one actually believes in the company

Step 4: buy back shares at reduced valuation

Step 5: repeat

I'd say quite a few companies do a lot of stock manipulating for profits.  They just make it look more legit.

Take Netflix for instance.  Stock was at a peak about 2 1/2 years ago.  So, they come out with news that would tank their stock over the next 6-9 months.  From 700 area to the 160 area.

That's was a genius move there.  NFLX essentially did a 4-1 stock split, without actually doing a 4-1 stock split! LOL Fucking brilliant!  Company could then buy their own stock back at a discount way lower than normal.

They don't call him (G)Reed Hastings for nothing.  I love him.  Guy has made me some real good cash over the years.  Now the stock is back up close to where it was before it tanked, all in 2 1/2 years...

Wall Street rumors are that the CEO of Bitcoin, in the upcoming quarterly report, will announce the release of the Bytecoin later this year. The company will initially sell them at the same price as its originally bitcoin but the company's block chain will accept 1 bytecoin for 8 bitcoins.  Analysts said at first it will be tremendous revenue increase for bitcoin but slowly devalue bitcoin as it moves to an 8 to 1 par with the bytecoin.

Edit: when bitcoin was first developed I started mining it and had almost 100BTC in a wallet that I have since lost. I've been digging  through my old Hard drives to try and find that shit because today it is worth close to 750k. I can't believe I lost that shit. FML

Saw this and am wondering if you ever found that wallet, because....damn 🤑

I'm only going to say this once. There is growing pretty well sourced speculation that Trump will make a speech at the Bitcoin conference that is being held in Nashville next week, that he was going to create a bitcoin strategic reserve in the US once elected.

We're not there yet, but it's always been inevitable. Those who study it realize it.

Freedom money belongs in the US. Once the US makes this move, the world will realize it needs a Bitcoin position, not just the 1%ers.

When markets get scary, crypto proves its worthlessness

On Monday, bitcoin did the opposite of what it’s supposed to do.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2024/08/08/crypto-volatility-haven-monday-market-prices/

Rather than a currency or a substitute for the banking system, bitcoin evolved into its own volatile asset class, whose value has ranged, within just the past year, from about $25,000 to about $70,000. The crypto ecosystem that grew up around bitcoin and all the other cryptocurrencies appears to be less reliable and stable, and more corrupt, than the established banking system. The best thing that can be said about it is that it doesn’t matter much.

Then came Monday. As if to put the final nail in the coffin, as if to bury once and for all any hopes of using cryptocurrencies as “digital gold,” bitcoin dropped by 15 percent. This is not how a hedge against inflation or disaster acts. As Bloomberg News’s Joe Weisenthal put it, it behaved more like “3 tech stocks in a trenchcoat.” If that’s what you want, why not just buy the tech stocks?

But beyond this, it seems less like digital gold than a digital slot machine. I can’t shake the feeling that most people use it not because it’s a good substitute for anything they need, but because it’s fun to watch the reels spin without knowing whether they’ll pay off. In other words, bitcoin’s not good for much of anything except giving people who have money to burn a novel way to set it on fire.
