So would I. Young was absolutely incredible. From the second he became the starter he was the best QB in football & it may not have been overly close. And guys like Marino, Elway, and pre pick machine Favre were in their prime. Young was absolutely dominant for 7-8 years.

Prime Young was a wonder. Of course so was Montana, just not as proficient in the regular season. Montana had more charisma, which is what catapulted him.

 

Who knows how Brady would’ve adjusted to less rules. I mean, they did make the rules softer so that a Brady could exist, but he also gets the ball out faster than anybody. Brady the GOAT regardless of era.
 

The real question is: how good would Marino be on a better team?

It is, it's common to start with a real interview then pan away to b footage with the AI commentary, I've seen a dozen of these videos

I do think that Brady benefited from rule changes, not just on roughing the passer but from more restrictions on DBs.

 

It made a huge difference not just on production, but in the impact of the QB on the game. In times past you could have the best QB and often not win the game let alone the championship. Nowadays the best QB is much more likely to have the best team, though we are seeing a regression toward the mean the past few years as defenses are catching up to the new rules and running is once more being emphasized - though not to the degree of the 90s and before.
