Damn that's a lot of jerseys. Would be crazy if this spread across the team and we had drops like this weekly

The Titans have had the worst record in the NFL in each of the last 2 years, are running entirely new systems this year without too much of a talent injection outside of taking players from the New York teams, which both suck, and they looked like straight trash in preseason. 

 

Of course nobody is hyping them.

 

Best case scenario, coaching and systems and player development have resulted in some unknown quantity of better that we didn't see in preseason because they're not running their true systems. Good luck getting somebody to promote that story.

I agree (SEA lost their opener at home last year and won the SB) but there's tons of context to the Titans situation.   Lose to the Jets and a rough start is not only possible, it's likely, based on the first part of the schedule.  

 

Jets, Eagles, @ Giants, @ Ravens, Texans, @ Colts. 

 

• New HC facing the team that fired him that was equally bad last season
• Back to back 3 win seasons and are 12-46 (.207) in their last 58 regular season games
• Crappy preseason performances
• Questions on whether the right GM/coaches/QB are in place

Bottom line is that they have no credit with the fan base or local media.  Hence a rough start will be ugly for the team.

two of the scores predicted we 12-9 and 10-7...both have the jets winning.

 

If those are my final score predictions I would have a difficult time deciding with any conviction which team gets which score.

Agree entirely, that a rough start — especially if it’s ugly, uncompetitive football — would create strong headwinds, but it’s not insurmountable as long as Ward is trending upwards overall by some point, even late in the season. In fact, if the team is straight ass, the sentiment to tank will grow.

 

Not sure where the inflection point is (what part of the season are fans still invested in Ws), but it’s something like 90% Ward’s progress, 10% Saleh and staff under scrutiny this year, imo

The only think we can say with 100% certainty is that the media...and definitely this board...will drastically overreact to either a win or a loss in week 1.

The Jets aren't a good team (on offense, at least). But it's still week one. Crazy things always happen in week one, and it rarely tells us much. Now, if we are 1-3 after the first four games, then we can start to panic. But week one is NEVER a must win game.

they drafted higher than us.. thats the proof they are worse.

The point is the Titans have no claim to be a better team than any other at 0-0 when they have been so bad for the last 3 years.

 

No one should be upset at anyone being seen as the better team until they prove otherwise

Hadn't seen it anywhere but we were discussing Wandales head and whether or not it was a concussion. This FF link seems to say so:

Ridley is among the five wide receivers on the Titans' initial 53-man roster.

Tennessee heads into the season with Carnell Tate (undisclosed), Wan'Dale Robinson (head), Ridley, Chimere Dike and Elic Ayomanor at wide receiver. Of those five players, only Robinson and Ridley have more than one year of NFL experience. Ridley was the team's No. 1 receiver in the early part of last season but finished the year with just 303 receiving yards in seven games, as he missed time due to a hamstring injury and then fractured his fibula. Having recovered from those injuries, the 31-year-old Ridley is in contention for a starting role on the outside opposite Tate, with Robinson likely to work primarily out of the slot.

It also implies that Ridley is battling for a starting spot on the outside.

I think its more "yeah we know we suck but please dont put us with the Jets level of suck". True or not.

but I do think that a home game vs the Jets is a must win for this team,
