Hyperion
The Patriots are just a disgusting organization on all levels. They have all the charm and charisma of a North Korean penal colony. Number9

With the amount of corner blitzes Seattle was running, the easy out was the screen game with bubbles and RBs. Add in QB one read hot routes for both slot and TE and bail, as well as designed QB run plays into the blitz with pulling guards like the Bills use. I get that Maye was hurt, but whatever it's the SB and he's already getting killed anyways. They literally never adjusted until it was a blowout, which is on coaching. I think Seattle sniffed out that one WR bubble screen and they didn’t run it again. But agree with most of this . Some of their biggest plays was just off scheduled runs by Maye. You’d figure they’d call one or two. This is football 101. You throw into the vacated area and that’s how you counter the blitz. I’m disappointed in McDaniels. He’s not Vrabel yet he failed to make those adjustments. This wasn’t the worst display of Meathead popping up but it was on the biggest stage. The guy never learned from the failures here IsntLifeFunny

I mean you obviously have to design some things and can't go straight college ball, but they were running cover zero blitzes damn near half of their plays. Bubble screens and PA to the RB screens pop those if you make one man miss. And the reason you keep going back to those, is because you're calling plays that force them out of the coverage your OL can't handle. That's why you adjust. You have to force the defense to respect the flats when they're sending that nickel blitz over and over. Doesn't mean it changes the outcome, but that's the chess game. They just kept running it because NE never adjusted to cover zero boundary plays or told Maye one read and bail up the middle. If it's man their backs are turned, and if it's zone the LBs are spreading to cover the hole left by the NB. Should have dusted off the Ravens playbook with Lamar his first few years because trying to do straight drop backs with that OL was disastrous literally the entirety of the playoffs. Like what did they think would happen? rns90

Maye can’t find Darnold to congratulate him after the game . 10 secs in you can see Vrabel still high tailing it to the locker room .
