We're already in "terrible company", might as well get back to back #1 picks at the same time

If you cant see how that trade propelled us to a superbowl contender, which is just about all anyone can reasonably ask for, there is no helping you.    It made us ryan Tannehill away from a

What made this team a contender for a brief window of time was acquiring Tannehill.  For a couple of seasons Tannehill was the best QB this team had in 15 years since McNair and it wasn't even close.

The second he started playing at a high level, this team was a contender.  The second that play disappeared, so did the contending even though the same supporting cast you are fondling was still here.

It's all about the QB.  Clearly you don't realize that and there is no helping you.

How good would tanny be without his whole offense(minus AJ) as much as I am a tanny defender, even he would have been in a much worse spot without henry, jonnu and davis.

This team has one more win in them. I think they'll finish first or second overall again. The fear I have is that the Jets and Browns are also taking this very seriously. I didn't watch the Ravens-Browns game today but according to a friend, the Browns actively tanked the game when Gabriel got 'hurt'.

If we win 1 more game we should have a good shot at the first overall pick. If we win 2 more games we are going to need some massive luck. If they win 3 games idk if we have any shot at a top 5 pick. Its just not the year with our SoS and the massive number of bad teams.

Before the Ridley injury today I thought they would beat the Saints and get one of the two against Jags now Ridley is done for the year I'm just not sure this team has enough points in them to win anything.

The only fluke win and highest score (22pts lol) this season against the Cardinals coincided with the only 100yd game from a WR this year (Ridley).

Looking at the standings is nuts.  For example the Giants being just a game better makes no sense at all.  The Titans are in so much worse shape than the NYG. The Titans are clearly the worst team but there is so much competition and it's just awful luck with the SOS.  Considering how much could be gained from getting the first and flipping it for a haul, it's just absolutely critical that they finish first.

Now look at the schedules for the 2 and 3 win teams. There are a lot of common games that some team must win.  The browns and raiders play this coming week.  So do the falcons and  saints.  The SOS is only a tiebreaker.  The reason other teams have weaker SOS  is because they play weaker teams and that gives them a greater chance to win.

Two big games on the schedule next week with the Browns travelling to play Raiders and a beat up Falcons team likely without Penix and Drake London travelling to play a Saints team coming off a bye.

Wouldn't expect the Titans, Giants or Jets to win next week.

Yes, it resulted in another decade of not winning a championship.

So what's your solution? Spend an obscene amount of money in free agency for guys who the original team didn't think enough of to keep around?

Or maybe you're just looking for a reason to be contrarian/bitch because it's the only fun you have right now "as a fan"?

If by actively tanking you mean put in the next qb fine. That isnt remotely what happened.

If we end up with back to back #1 picks that puts us in some pretty terrible company.

I mean we're talking Browns and Jags territory...

Hopefully Strunk realizes that she and her ‘advisors’ are why we are in such company. But I doubt she does….

The Jets and Browns play each other Dec. 21st. So one of them will get another win. The Saints and Jets also play each other. So that's another win for one of them. Giants and Raiders play each other....a win for one of them.

So, yeah, there are a lot of bad teams this year, but they are also about to play each other and get some wins, one way or the other.

Before this past weekend games, I did a count.

There were 5 games left of 2 win vs. 2 win teams of which the Titans were playing in 2 of them (Browns, Saints)

There were 9 games left of 2 win teams vs. 3 win teams of which the Titans play in 0  of them.

SOS cuts both ways.  The Titans lose the tiebreaker, but it's only a tiebreaker.  They also have a lesser chance to win games because they play stronger opponents.
