They are leasing Simmons out like an automobile to the Rams until the '27 season gets here, to use him like a bigger Aaron Donald and help them win a SB before Matt Stafford retires.  Then, Simmons comes back to Tennessee with a SB ring and McVay comes with him in '27!  Good times on da way!

The bye week comes perfectly because it allows a full week to hit the reset button after what will be a number of personnel moves. I think it makes trades here more likely actually

On the ESPN MNF pre-game show Jerry Jones on set with SVP confirmed the trade is a defensive player and not only that it might be multiple moves not just a single trade.

I just  re-watched every Sweat play. Good gosh you are so wrong. The Chargers almost always chipped and double-teamed Sweat . 

 

I only saw 4 plays where Sweat was not double teamed, and on one of those plays he deflected a pass. Two of the plays were short yardage "tush push plays" where who knows the assignment.  That leaves one play where he was taken out. One freakin play where he was taken out by a single blocker..

 

Sorry reality does not fit your narrative. But yeah, let's trade another second-round pick for a fifth or sixth. Let's take Simmons best help away and take a shot on some late round pick next year. Give me a break.

So @oldschoolyour response was to laugh, because you don't actually know what effect Sweat has on opposing offenses.  You said Sweat was not double teamed on pass plays.  You were wrong. Maybe respond with facts instead of posting an emoji. I proved you factually wrong. You want us to trade Sweat because you think he's overweight. Fact is Sweat is a great piece for us on a rookie contract.
