EDGE and WR could look equally bleak with Oladejo potentially the only EDGE returning and the top of the WR room could be two 4th round picks and an UDFA in Ayomanor/Dike/Oliver.

They need to re-sign Ward.

Pollard to the Ravens?

If you think trading away AJ Brown was a bad idea, trading Simmons is far, far worse.  He's a high level established player in his prime. Trading him also likely gets a huge negative reaction from tea

I personally don’t want Strunk anywhere near the team. I don’t want her there answering operational questions and shit. I want her at a distance letting the football guys be in charge.

The core:

Ward, Spears, Ayomanor, Helm, Skoronski, Latham, Simmons, Gray, Hooker, Winston, Dike.

That's it.

That core is fine

But I would also be cool with holding onto Levin, Udoh, Lynch and Cox. Low cost guys who have more than been worth their price tags.

Personally I keep Sweat, as well.

Slater, Harris, Winston Jr. it's too early to let them walk.

For what, I don't see a Autry type situation with him. Capitalize on the decent play, and get a draft pick out of him.

He's not a long term building piece.

Because he's hitting the QB, getting sacks here and there, and has a high pressure rate?

another reason you know Russini is full of shit.  The list of players off limits is obviously greater than just Ward and Simmons.

Russini has no connections in BSP. Vrabel was her guy and she’s made that painfully clear to everyone who will listen

Those last three need to play a lot in these last 10 games.

He has had one sack in 7 games, he's been decent.  He's for a contender not a rebuilding team at this point.

I thought it was 2, but the point remains he's the only edge with a pulse.

Cheap depth and the team will need a rotation at edge.  Keep him.  Same with Day, Woods, possibly JA-D.  Can't decimate the entire defensive depth chart.

yup. fans seem to have trouble with the idea of trading players who aren't in your future plans like McCreary vs anyone with a pulse you can't get a draft pick for. The Titans aren't going the latter route.

Date of completed trade: Oct. 14, 2024

SEATTLE RECEIVES:

DE Roy Robertson-Harris

JACKSONVILLE RECEIVES:

2026 sixth-round draft pick

Laughable to think we wouldn't get a draft pick for Ward, very similar trade went down last year.  A 32 year old edge rusher isn't in the future plans, and this season isn't getting turned around this year or next.  If a team came and offered any draft pick for him it would be silly to turn them down.

I don't think anyone is advocating for signing him to a huge deal or anything. He's not a building block but we can't replace the entire roster in one off-season so someone has to be retained. Trust me, I wish we could cut everyone but that's not realistic.

and you need rotational pass rushers... if Ward is in their plans for a few years at a decent price, he's not worth trading for a 6th. Now if they plan to let him walk thats a different story

This is what some fans have trouble wrapping their heads around when people are advocating taking anything they can get for some players we are only talking about the specific guys who have no future here beyond this season.

I think it is a communication problem.  Someone should take the time to attempt to make it clear which positions, age range of players, etc. are in the conversation.  Other variables include what is the general consensus for a "winning window" and the expected value for a trade.

Since draft picks will be the common currency (instead of player-for-player trades), what is the expectation for that pick?  Depth for a few years?  Development player?  Starter?  Star?

The Titans are a franchise with a history of shit drafting.  Perhaps this last draft is the start of a new trend, though.

Talk of the team's salary cap space should also include a list of players to extend and potential free agents.  Extending a player is MUCH easier than wooing one to this team.

There's a misconception out there that there is no bias with the FAs choosing where they go.
