Ridley's stats last year immediately went way up once they benched and traded hop.

be that as it may, Ridley was targeted 36:21 vs Hop .

the comparison is simply that Ridley started off slow last year as well.

but since you brought it up here's a visual of the 2 side by side....
it's not like the presence of Hop was detrimental. Rid was still targeted more in all but 2 games, and one of those games is only 3v4 (the win vs MIA) and neither one of them were really a factor in that game

If Cally wins this, you know he will be in tears.

Trading Tunsil was so stupid

Suss just kind of implied On A Football Show that people in the front office are actually concerned about the result of the New England game lol Man, if that’s true, we truly are fucked

Thats fair, idk if it was what made the difference. Maybe it was coincidence, maybe it was he was getting different looks. Idk. Just thought id toss it out there.

i think it's just early season rust.
at least I hope that's all it is.

this is a pretty easy stretch coming up. if the light hasn't come on by the Patriots game then fuck it.
personally, I'm looking for improvement as early as this week v HOU

Ridley has really cashed in on that 2020 season and having played within the same vicinity as Julio Jones. Even in 2020 there were 50 passes that got left on the field with him. Idk how many of those were on him or not, but his catch percentage is what it is.

657 career targets

396 career receptions

He's barely caught only half the balls ever thrown his way. This isn't new for him at all. Maybe he's a slow starter? Idk, you'd have to go back and look at the early portion of all his seasons.

I love the idea of Ridley being a trustworthy, explosive option for CW, but I don't see him being long for this team with younger options in the draft or Dike coming on strong and taking over the Z spot.

Hopefully he starts to find his way more as the sesspn progresses. It'd be nice not to see just about every drive stall out.

i did that and it's a mixed bag really.
feels a bit apples and oranges simply because the teams and schemes are factors.

the fact that he had 1,000 yard season with Levis as his QB and Callahan as his coach and the slow out of the gate start to the 2024 season does instill a bit of hope he can course correct.

I'm probably out if he hasn't figured it out by the bye though

That game marks the official end of the contender window we had, but I would argue it actually closed when Taylor Lewan went down two months before that..in Buffalo on Monday, Sept 19th..

So, to me, the window was from Nov. 19, 2019 - to Sept 19th, 2022.

Nov 19th, 2019 Kalu blocked the FG to beat KC, and I felt we became a real contender that day. You could argue it was when Tannehill became the starter, but we officially arrived that day against KC.

God, the high I got off that win.

October 20th 2019 was the start.  It very obviously ended on Jan 22, 2022. Tannehill mustered a paltry 21 TDs and 14 ints that season and ended the year with the worst playoff performance by a QB most can remember.

The 2022 season was horrid form the start and already well out of our window. Any positives there was clear fools gold. No AJ. We beat no one with a winning record - only 1 team was close with 8 wins. And in those wins it was a struggle. We got drummed by the Bills early - showing our true nature. Henry was the only bright spot. Tannehill was getting hurt and crying.

Our window lasted only 2.5 seasons.
