I'm pretty sure we can all agree that tornadoes are a severe weather phenomena that are created and driven by climate conditions.    Right?

 

Back in the late 1990s, we had a tornado here in Chattanooga.   There were no fatalities and didn't do too too much damage....but around here  it was major news for a few days:  at the time,  this area hadn't seen a tornado in 25-30 years.

 

I'm pretty sure it was the same situation for Nashville, Knoxville, and Memphis:  tornadoes used to be few and far between.  

 

Fast-forward 20-30 years.....tornadoes are now an annual occurrence throughout the entire region.   They barely even make the news any more unless there's massive damage or loss of life.

 

NWS historical statistics for the total number of documented tornadoes in the state of Tennessee:

 

2020-2024:  165    (projects to ~330 over ten years)

2010-2019:  345

2000-2009:  272

 1990-1999:  201

1980-1989:  107

1970-1979:  163

1960-1969:   70

NWS statistics show tornadoes in Tennessee have increased by roughly 50% just in the past 10-20 years....by ~300% over the past 40 years...and 400% since 1950.     

 

And  tornadoes are a climate-driven phenomena.

 

So we've seen a documented 300-400% increase in climate-related phenomena.....but we're supposed to believe nothing has changed and that climate change doesn't exist.

What’s more, in terms of global warming, Republican dogma against clean power tech has doomed America’s economy and guaranteed China’s dominance. They now have complete control over the global market for solar power, batteries, and electric cars (among other things). 
 

Republican policies, both Trump era and long before Trump, have ended America’s near century as the top country on earth. China now controls the future.
