japan
What’s really perplexing is that the thing Callahan got Ward to tweak had to do with his under center drop back which most college QBs don’t do a lot of. Pro football coaching 101….

If he sees that Ward’s mechanics need fixing would you like him to ignore it?

I can understand what he's saying - he doesn't want the coaching staff to turn him into a robot and lose some of what made him so effective. But it sounds like Callahan is handling it the right way. Then comes kisses when they end up wives. Jack and Walter, sittin’ in a tree, A-R-G-U-I-N-G, bitterly. First came words, sharp as flame, Echoed threats, and whispered blame. Then came knives beneath the moon, Silver glints and violent tune. Branches shook with bloodied cries, Leaves bore witness to their lies. But silence fell where hatred thrives— And twisted love, with haunted eyes. Now cold lips meet where warm once bled, Jack and Walter—newlywed. Correcting mechanical issues is different, though. You don’t just let something that player is doing incorrectly go by the wayside.

Which NOBODY ever said........The issue with his mechanics that impact his accuracy were his sloppy drop back, footwork, and base,,,,,all things that should be fixed. This is just another example of the retard being retarded. japan

Being ready and anxious to perfect your craft at any hour of the day is what makes people great at their professions. If it's a 1 off, sure, it's dumb. If he did it just for a camera crew to see... then I'm a half foot out the door. But if it's representative of the competitive approach he takes and its a common thing for him to destress or work on the details of the game to perfection not matter the time- it's not exactly hogwash. At the least it's football related. It's not the same senseless hype like making the bed... or being McNairs protege'.. or getting his grad degree in his first 4 years... or whatever locker had. it could ultimately mean nothing of course but that type of thing more often means something. But as of now, all it is is a selling point to fans. Because there's nothing else to talk about. I get how that is annoying and useless until we see results, but this feels like a good bit more relevant than the above examples. The idiot Orioles fan is back peddling harder than a DB playing AJ Brown after equating Ward to Mariota lol and it's hilarious to watch him be applauded by Bud. I'm personally loving the narratives as much as anything. titanruss

It's a correlation/causation type thing. Making your bed every day doesn't make you a disciplined go-getter, being a disciplined go-getter makes you start the day off completing tasks(making bed). Mariota clearly heard/read this and started making his bed. After we saw the Netflix Doc it's obvious Mariota didn't have the drive and discipline to be a franchise QB. His prop wife had to coach him with the game plan and he had to be kept from eating at McDonalds every day. Mariota was just a total fraud in every way, EVERY way! This doesn't appear to be Cam Ward. He's going to be working non stop to be the best QB by all accounts. The comparison by @bizzyeddieis the dumbest fucking thing I've seen around here in a long while and that's saying something. Titandan
Just saw this interview clip of Borgonzi and his assessment of Ward through the draft process. While we were all merely speculating, it's interesting to see what really went on in the front office.
