Groups like Hamas and Hezbollah attack them constantly. These groups want nothing less than the eradication of Israel and all Israelis. And Israel has been in a fight for its survival since the day it was founded. All that said, there is no doubt that Israel has brutalized the Palestinians in return. The things they have done in an attempt to protect themselves have conversely left themselves unable to ever have a peaceful resolution with the Palestinians. And then Israel got blamed for deaths caused by terrorist groups in Gaza (like the hospital explosion and some in evacuation corridors), so thanks to that it became harder for America to slow them down.
