Hopkins simply doesn't fit in with the youth movement Carthon seems to be embarking on it would be an incredibly dumb move and one likely pushed by Vrabel if it eventuated. Vrabel's comment to get faster didn't necessarily mean 4.3 guys but when you trot out NWI and Swaim as starters, the bar to get faster isn't high. 4.55 guys can apply. Depends on the cost. If it's a day 3 pick and can plug in a NFL caliber WR, you'd have to consider it assuming you could just restructure the existing deal. I That's what I kind of got as well. It's not the burner type that'll score from anywhere types (though it would be nice). It's more like someone who can get open and get you 15+ yard chunk plays. Its not simply we're good its why trade for and pay a 31y/o WR who reportedly needs to be physically managed to get to game day each week, it is also the short term moves like this that helped lead to the deterioration of the roster.
