Vrabel gaining more personnel control is not a good thing - regardless of who the new GM is - I promise you that.

Vrabel's comment "who is he going to throw it to?" about the receivers/Malik is a little more cryptic now.    I loved Jrob, but I love AAS more. She ain't fucking around. Ya love to see it.

Everything is probably on the table now will heavily depend on who the new GM ends up being.

it should be. When you blow out the top dog you expect the new person to have a vision and sell you on that vision. You hire them for that very reason.

Obviously it's up to the new GM, but I wouldn't be surprised if next season is Tannehill's last here. I've definitely been in the camp that it's not clear how you replace him, but a new GM may want to try and get his guy.

Adoree Jackson is one of probably the top 15 best CBs in the NFL, not really a stick to beat J Rob with that one taken after him was better

Are we doing that thing again where jrob declines the 5th on a 1st rounder who goes elsewhere and plays well but we give him credit for drafting the guy anyway? I just want to be sure.

The decision on Tannehill likely comes down what Vrabel thinks. Its highly unlikely the new GM has oversight of Vrabel.

That was the wrong decision at the time and I criticised it at the time. They actually picked up the 5th then cut him when he got hurt

Still doesn’t mean it wasn’t a good draft pick at the time it was made. Robinson fucked up the cap that year

He obviously should get credit for drafting him. He should get criticism for making the wrong decisions on which of those good players to keep and which to let go.

Its going to be interesting for sure. Would they flip Tannehill to a QB needy team to help accelerate retooling the roster and look for a Hurts style QB or will they keep Tannehill and rebuild around him?

Trading RT this off season is a recipe for disaster in 2023.  That's not the way a new GM will want to start.   The most likely scenario is to keep him, hold off on an extension and keep options open while you evaluate him (with new surrounding personnel) and the 2024 QB class.

I know this is really low on the list of issues with JRob, but I've always been really confused by how JRob handled the kicker situation. Seems like in six years a little bit of effort could have been spent finding someone even halfway reliable. It's been years since I've had any confidence in attempting a 50+ yard field goal. There was that one undrafted guy (Ficken or whatever his name is) who seemed to have some promise but then he got hurt and just vanished. Otherwise it's just been old cast offs from other teams.
