White?

Steve Smith just said on NFL network this guy is one of the best route runners in this draft and Phillips will play rapidly because of it

Mike Keith said this morning that some feel that Kyle Phillips was the biggest steal of the draft for the Titans. It's kinda easy to see if you watch how he douches on receivers in the routes. I can see why he gets Cooper Kupp comparisons. He's not the fastest guy. He wins with technique, nuance, and effort.

"He employs head fakes, hip pointing, and doesn’t allow DBs to “slip the hip” by moving upfield before catching the pass. When he faces man coverage, he gets his CB to flip his hips one way and immediately targets their backside.

Against off coverage, Philips held defenders with eye candy, perfectly timing his route with the QB to catch the easy completion. He understands leverage and possesses the spatial awareness to flow to open zones. At the line of scrimmage, he utilizes his lightning-quick feet with deadly effect. Philips hardly faced press in college, but when he did — and at Shrine Bowl 1-on-1s — he beat DBs with rapid pace they couldn’t match."

Greg Cossell said yesterday this guy “rolls out of bed, ready to play slot receiver in the NFL”.. compares him to Cooper Kupp , we can only hope

You know where I can hear that conversation?

Kupp is 3 inches taller than Phillips. So strange that he’s the comparison people keep making. There’s a deep lineage of Pats receivers to compare him to instead.

They look extremely similar in their route running. A lot of the same shit said about them coming out, and they both shit on some great DBs with superior technique. Kyle Phillips has almost 3 inches of vert over Kupp, so there's that.

I gotta say,  white receivers are the last group in America you can stereotype and/or pigeonhole without any push-back. I hope he's Hunter Renfrow!

The nfl is so inundated with racism it’s hard to notice anymore, but the white wr comps to other white wrs is so on the nose it stands out like a sore thumb.

Same with black QBs. I swear all Jameis Winstons comps were only black QBs when I felt he was most like Big Ben.
