Nearly three-quarters – 72% – of the Republican accounts gained Twitter followers in the 24-hour span from Monday midmorning to Tuesday morning, according to a USA TODAY analysis of the Twitter followings of the official congressional accounts for 529 members of the House and Senate.

Almost all Democratic lawmakers – 268 of 270 accounts – lost followers. The biggest losers were Nancy Pelosi, Elizabeth Warren, Adam Schiff, Chuck Schumer and Maxine Waters, as well as independent Bernie Sanders.

Twitter told USA TODAY the fluctuations in follower counts were caused by new accounts being created and existing accounts being deactivated.

Give him a chance. It may turn out way better than people are thinking. I think they should remove the re-tweet button, and force people to use only original content like it was before 2014. Some of the experts and sociologists I've read say that the social media became a cesspool primarily due to the re-tweet button.

And carbon copy blogs, YT channels, backlinking sites, etc etc etc. It's amazing how much fluff and bs is on the internet just sucking the life out of ad budgets.

Stop exaggerating. He built SpaceX and Tesla into billion dollar businesses, but not 6. His direct involvement with other businesses were unsuccessful (outside of cashing in as a shareholder).

He deserves credit for his idea of developing cheap, reusable rockets as well as for developing electric cars (it was someone else’s idea, but he did buy into it). Thus far, he has received way too much credit for other things. He’s not Tony Stark. At best he is Steve Jobs.

Exaggerating?

Tesla: $1+ trillion valuation

SpaceX: $100+ billion valuation

PayPal: $100+ billion valuation

The Boring Company: $5.6 billion valuation

Solar City: $2.6 billion valuation

Neuralink: ~ $1 billion valuation

Give Musk, the Tim Pool and Mike Cernovich fan, a chance!

The practical effect of Vijaya and her team's censorship efforts have done far more to fuel any "targeted harrassment campaign" than Musk tweeting 'mean things'. The very fact that Musk was even in the market to buy Twitter speaks to those efforts. That guy didn't need Twitter.

But maybe you should also consider the fact that Jack Dorsey, the creator of Twitter, has even lamented what the platform he made has become. He's also a big fan of the Musk move.

Name them. Because he didn't build Tesla (Obviously he has had a major role to play) and he sure as hell didn't build Paypal. Most of his ventures are because he's a rich man from a rich family and thus can throw money at projects until he can call himself a "founder". He's obviously a good entrepeneur but not even close to the greatest in history

This is a bit disingenuous. He didn't start Tesla but he sure has hell transformed it. Not giving him credit for PayPal and Tesla seems like sour grapes to me. He clearly knows how to build a company as well as take them to the next level.

At the end of the day, as long as there are less BTS and Zendaya Stan-bot accounts, it should be for the better.

I still struggle to fathom how some of these people get so fucking famous. But I guess that's what makes me an old boomer now, huh? Even though actual boomers were my of my parents generation or the generation right after. Dumb ass little appropriating zygotes call anyone over the age of 25 a boomer these days.

...and I think it's optimistic to call her a "future employee".

What I've always said. Let the leftist woke bots and the proud boys go fuck each other to death on Mars and leave the earth for the rest of sane humanity. Maybe that's the *real* reason Musk wants to get us up there.

It will be interesting to see what he defines as far left and far right.
