Musk tweeted a made up story from a non-satire right wing news source with low credibility about Paul Pelosi (with references listed as IMHO ) that he was drunk and it was all an argument with a male prostitute that got him attacked. ... Musk said "there's a ti y chance there may actuall be more to this story”

 

Now if he's just joking around - I get it... the problem is when people with great influence do shit like this, you have morons like tux taking it to heart as real. And now you have musk fanboys being easily manipulated too

He deleted the tweet but it's a pretty clear example of the type of moron (see: not genius) he is and the pivot Twitter will take.

Twitter's previous management refused to take down the video of a child being raped , as they claimed that it didn't violate their policies.  It's pretty clear there was a problem with the decisions were made about which content to allow and not to allow, and that there's no way that Musk is going to take it in a worse direction that it was.

I hate to someone agree with the above post but it is fair to say Twitter is/was already a shit show featuring the worst of humankind way too often.  No faith it doesn't slide even further down that hole but this false dichotomy that Gee things were great before Elon needs to leave.

Sure you can keep going with the voodoo that you do, but let's just make it easy for everyone to see who's who so they can better decide whom to follow.

This is true but it really just reinforces the point that Twitter really has no ground to give on this. All these lame failures like TruthSocial and Parlor are infinitely worse experiences. Any move to attract more of those people will result in massive failures for Twitter. These dregs of society are not how Twitter gains value and money to repay its huge debts,

Well would actually have to read the opinion piece.

 

One reason Twitter so disinteresting to me... attention span of a gnat.   Forces people to try to summarize oft complex concepts into sound bites.  And even when done fairly well, then without supporting context it is quite easy to take out of context usually in order to promote one's agenda.  

 

Seeing people like Steven Pinker get Twit-assaulted for just mentioning established data sets that apparently don't jive with someone's MO is an example of Lefter on Left violence.  But that's Twitter, where the extremes of the continuum get the attention, attacking all those inward from their dogma.

I'd be just fine if they all went away.  Can't say I've ever really seen the others but can only imagine.

 

Now Musk might not be so happy about that.  Still makes me wonder to what extent his flippant whatever whimsical egotistical front takes a back seat to his need to make this work financially, and some signs are already pointing to that.  What does a financially thriving Twitter look like?  Not sure staff reductions, 84 hr work weeks and $8 blue checks is going to cut it.  Nor a return of Trump and West.

I'm pretty sure this forum featured a thread in which people joked about a man accidentally killing his child.  It is the people here who have no ground to stand on.
