Absolute cluster. You couldn't sabotage the company faster. Frankly, I'm not convinced he's not sabotaging the company.

If not for the fact it would tank his reputation with investors and hurt Tesla stock, I’d say it was possible.

But now you know why he fought so hard to avoid going through with his purchase. He didn’t really want it once he realized what he had agree to buy.

It lowered Eli Lilly stock ~4.5%.  Other stocks had similar.  Twitter will be a gold mine for lawyers for many a year.

I wish I had seen the tweet while it was up and retweeted.

I think the "official" reply might also be fake. I don't see it in the account's reply history, at least. They may have deleted it. No idea.

Welcome to elon's world, where reality is fake and nothing makes sense.

I think it was deleted because the original thread was and it's a reply. I could be wrong though.

Sounds like the rumors that he wanted to turn it into some sort of all in one app like one in China are true. He's definitely wanting to challenge PayPal and Google as a payment system.

I wonder if he'll try to use it to help Russia evade sanctions.

It was a stupid idea. It works in China where the people aren’t given much choice in platforms and the government wants large do it all platforms so they can monitor everyone easily. In the western world, there are already lots of online payment options and lots of choice.

Or maybe this explains his support of Republicans in America and other authoritarians abroad…

I was considering if Putin fits in with this due to Musk talking to him for Starlink, etc.  Twitter was a tool for the masses for at least he Arab Spring.  Dictators don't like the old social media.
