The trick is finding the right balanced between a regulated free market and soical polices for the greater good. Everyone has different ideas on how much of each system is best. The issue is the morons who think you need to go 90%+ one way or the other, that always fails. Pure, unadulterated socialism—meaning full state ownership of production, central planning without markets, and no private enterprise—has indeed failed to deliver sustained prosperity or avoid collapse in every historical attempt. Think Soviet Union, Maoist China pre-reforms, or North Korea: economic stagnation, famines, and authoritarianism were the norms, not exceptions. No pure socialist system has "worked" long-term by metrics like broad wealth creation, innovation, or poverty eradication without evolving into something else. Along each side of that and where the current lots are is supposed to be buildings and apartments and bars /restaurants. underneath the mall/ green area/ park is supposed to be some parking lots but I don't see that working out very well with out karst topography and being below river level.
