It's depressingly scary just how easy it is to convince groups of people to hate each other, and I can only imagine what a war and losing loved ones would do to the brain. However, I thought their common heritage would buffer against the worst displays of hatred. What's weird, was in the one vid where the survivor tells the story of how the Russian troops frequently asked "where are the Nazis? where are the Nazis?!" when in fact THEY were the ones carrying out Nazi-like activities before retreating from the town.. Hitler wanted its resources to help support the war and then eventually settle Germans there after the war.
