NATO countries get much of their energy from Russia. They have never paid into NATO as expected. Hell, we import oil from Russia. At unbelievable prices, created in part. by our own stupid energy policies. Windfall got Russia. This is going to be shit for everyone. But maybe wind farms will make up for what we need. The left is uniformly bad for the country and the world. Might as well have elected Greta for all the idiocy they have created. I don’t know where you get this bullshit that we import oil at some incredibly high price. You do understand that there is a global oil market and prices are set by the finial markets. We pay market price for every barrel of oil. If you wanted a good rant you can blame the markets for the inflated cost of oil. But if you really cared you’d actually support solar and wind to stop funding Russia and Saudi Arabia and Iran. But you and the rest of the GOP are a bunch of oil barron bootlickers. You’d rather give Exxon a sloppy blowjob than support cheap, clean energy just because you’ve been brainwashed into thinking global warming isn’t real and Al Gore is somehow a bad guy. oldschool, Jerry Blair, OILERMAN, and 4 others

headhunter
It's gonna be interesting to see what becomes of Putin and Russia after this regardless what happens in Ukraine. Like Oman said there's no good outcome whatsoever. Will Putin get desperate and drop a huge bomb? Russia has already lost no matter what OILERMAN
Starkiller
Just now, OILERMAN said: The cost for Putin to completely take over and hold Ukraine is far greater than anyone expected, this is going to end badly for Putin His only leverage is selling oil and natural gas to Europe. He frankly should have timed an invasion to the beginning of winter, not the end of it. Now his leverage is minimal and sanctions are going to gut Russia economically. He miscalculated badly. You might have a few crazy psychopaths in their ranks who would love to kill for fun but you can’t tell me that there’s any real motivation for these guys to go in there with a take over mindset. It’s showing in the results. Ukrainians are willing to die to protect their land civilians too while the russians are trying to survive. Huge difference that’s why we still are in IRAQ today because the love of their country to kick out invades will never end. Russia will be fihhting a long war for years if they decide to stay. Putin may win the war but he’s already lost the battle

There’s a reason any former apparatchik who dreams wistful of the glory days of Moscow cannot countenance a Russia without Ukraine.
