They care about basic issues and how it affects them . When you talk about policy after say 30secs-one min, unless you’re a poltical junkie or you have a vested interest in the topic , the average person will tune it out. If you have to brag about some legislative accomplishments, you have to do it in the simplest terms and the shorter the better.
