9 Nines Posted March 28 Report Share Posted March 28 (edited) I read an article, that while based on assumptions seems sound: Iran has prepared for decades to withstand the US's predictable shock and awe campaign and now the US will be left with putting up (put boots on the ground) or shutting up (leave with no regime change.) This President took his country to war with no preparation, no strategy, no planning, and no foresight. No thought of whether or how the enemy would respond ...no consideration for any unexpected complications or potential fallout. Over and over in the past month, it's been one press conference after another with the President and/or Secretary of Defense effectively admitting, "Gosh, Wally....we didn't think about that! We didn't know that would happen!" As the leaders of the country and the US military, it's their job to anticipate and know what's coming before it happens...and to be prepared and have a plan to deal with it. Hence the term leadership...they're expected to lead. What we're seeing is the exact opposite of leadership; this is exactly what people mean when they call Trump and Hegseth unfit to lead. POTUS and US SecDef are among the most important and influential jobs in the entire world. These jobs demand an incredibly high level of knowledge, wisdom, experience, and judgement.....qualities where Trump and Hegseth have continually shown themselves to be sorely and embarrassingly lacking. Even if one supports and agrees with the Trump/MAGA ideology.....there's absolutely no denying that Trump's vanity war on Iran has become a disaster of epic proportions, alienating America's allies and creating mass disruptions for global oil markets and international trade everywhere. Trump has spent $50-100 billion in the first month, all funded and paid for by American taxpayers.....a cost of roughly $500-1000 to each and every American family. Ask yourself: is YOUR family passionate enough about this war to donate $1000 to Trump’s war chest? Well, guess what…you already did! And the money’s gone… he’s already spent it! But to what end? I've yet to see any coherent explanation as to how this war will eventually benefit the United States and American citizens. And of course, now the Trump administration is desperately trying to negotiate an agreement just to go back to the same arrangement they had a month ago....but Iran isn't having it. Trump spent $100B destroying what he already had....and now less than a month later he's already begging to get it back. But as it turns out, Iran isn't inclined to give it back without major concessions. This isn't about anyone being pro- or anti-Trump; what we've seen is just pure, unadulterated incompetence. Trump's vanity war has America's allies turning their backs in droves and distancing themselves from the actions of the US.....they want nothing to do with this. In just a month's time, Donald Trump has turned the world's premier superpower into a punchline....the bumbling and incompetent laughingstock of the international community. Israel wants complete control in the Middle East, it wants to expand for a “greater Israel” into Iran, into Lebanon. They want the us to send in troops, get involved in a 10 plus year war, while Israel invades Lebanon and drives further north, in the end, Israel will tell the us it’ll take over in the Middle East, opening bases while wanting the Americans out.
