Dems should neither gloat or grandstand too much, imo. Just say: we’re the serious group ready to do the work for America.  Sort yourselves out, asap.

Never interrupt your opponent when they are making a mistake, and all that

It would be much funnier watching him have to vacate those offices…

McCarthy wants to adjorn today's session to buy more time.  He's showing weakness and the motion, if raised, is likely to fail.

He’d look worse by having 3 more losing votes.

Not sure how long this is going to last, but it’s a huge embarrassment for the GOP. Of course, they are embarrassment proof, so it hardly matters…

Didn't have the votes to adjourn so they didn't try.  Another vote and nothing changes.

Just a matter of time before McCarthy votes start to peel off.

A Scalise white knight scenario has probably already gotten traction, but McCarthy is not going to cede when he is this close. Also, his currently negotiated position is likely disagreeable to any new potential speaker, so that would have to be sorted out, too.

Happiest guy for the moment is Santos, with the spotlight affixed to this leadership clusterfuck. The guy’s congressional page even said he’s been sworn in, but that’s not possible until a speaker of the House can swear him in.

Some momentum building in certain circles for Fred Upton to eventually be nominated as a compromise candidate.

Reportedly, Bacon says he will run a moderate challenger against Scalise if it comes to that.

I don't care who gets it as long as McCarthy doesn't. He's a two faced backstabbing piece of shit who no one takes at his word.
