You realize you are supposed to pay taxes on your bartending tips right? If you are truly making that much bank uncle sam will come for you at some point and it won't be pretty.

Have you ever, ever heard of the IRS coming for the tip wages of bartenders and servers?

Yes as I already stated. In both cases the guys I knew made tons of money at high end bars downtown. They aren't going after the bartender at Ruby Tuesday's but if you are pulling down $150K and living like you are in the top 10-20%, It sets off flags in the system. its simply a matter if your number gets called or not.

No they don't dude. They have no recourse for you pocketing and not reporting your cash tips save for sending in a PI and doing an long term undercover investigation.

Credit Card tips are obviously reported because there is a trail and a server or bartender could get into it with the IRS over not paying their taxes the same as any other worker in that sense but no--

I have never known a single bartender or waitress that reports cash tips and none of them have every gotten in any shit over it.

It’s definitely a real thing. It depends on how you go about it, but it happens with some frequency.
