Nobody believes the border is safer. Like you have to be a dumbass to think that.

Odd you swapped to belief of safer (subjective) versus crossing decrease (objective).

Almost like you learned how to Google and realized that there was a lot of reporting on it but just can't bring yourself to admit reality.

I went  back and looked.   Safer wasn't mentioned.   Dumbass.

But it would stand to reason that if the illegal crossings have decreased, maybe it is safer.   You're still a dumbass.

Local governance of Dem cities absolutely needs to get back in front of retail theft , blatant shoplifting.  It plays in the media like a dystopian lawless nightmare -- the kind of fearporn and Dem branding that can really affect voters.

Big win to maintain the momentum of the economy

UPS and the International Brotherhood of Teamsters on Wednesday announced a tentative collective bargaining agreement — just days before their current contract was set to lapse. “Together we reached a win-win-win agreement on the issues that are important to Teamsters leadership, our employees and to UPS and our customers,” Carol Tomé, UPS chief executive officer, said in a statement.

“This agreement continues to reward UPS’s full- and part-time employees with industry-leading pay and benefits while retaining the flexibility we need to stay competitive, serve our customers and keep our business strong.” The company said the five-year agreement would cover “Teamsters-represented employees in small-package roles and is subject to voting and ratification by union members.”

I strongly suspect this problem exists in every metropolitan area;  the media only chooses to cover it in cities where it can be used as inflammatory political fodder .

I’m in Chattanooga TN, which literally straddles the state line between deeply red SE Tennessee and even deeper red NW Georgia.   (i.e. MTG’s district) .    I’ll read the local police blotter from time to time…and when I do, there are almost always one or more reports of shoplifting incidents (usually at big box retailers) with 3-5 people carrying multiple items of value past points of sale and out the front door.  Sometimes  they’re stopped by “loss prevention” personnel …sometimes not.

Those who are caught are rarely arrested or prosecuted…because the fact is,  pursuing prosecution over a few hundred dollars’ worth of goods is usually more hassle than it’s worth. From a retailer’s perspective, it’s easier to just write it off….and the police certainly aren’t inclined to argue, since it’s less work for them.   They just trespass the offender and warn them not to come back.

Again, this is a frequent and ongoing issue in a  mid-sized city in a deeply Republican part of the country….but for some reason Republicans ignore this and choose to pretend it’s only an issue in Democrat-led cities like Chicago and San Francisco,
