They are average at best starting and solid depth. Upgrading those guys is hardly them being hell bent on having a good secondary, simply signing the biggest CB name in FA says that. Those guys have very little to do with us going after the most expensinve CB besides just showing that JRob doesn't think they are worth starting. You need 3 good CBs in today's NFL and we didn't have that before. We do now.

We got a damn good one. Ryans deal will not have any guarantees after this year making him expendable Butler, Jackson, Ryan make for a damn good trio I didn’t read a lot of that. I did read a lot of people saying that going after a big FA receiver made zero sense. And we were proven right.
ChemEngr79
Having 3 above average to great CBs can go a long ways to smothering a passing team. I like the move. It wasn't cheap, but it wasn't stupid money given his ability. Now 2 of our first 4 draft picks are mostly likely going to be in the front 7. If we can hit on a 1-2 quality adds, then this D can be lights out...

I think Adoree would fair much better covering smaller faster guys...Not to mention Logan Ryan and Butler are better more disciplined tacklers and would also be good run support corners...Just my opinion. He has trouble with slants and the such, much better on the outside. Slot corner is much harder to play.
titaninpgh
I like the signing, 3 potential #1s is TR-level hyperbole.
Huston
Why are people acting like they are done in free agency just because they signed Butler first. What front seven player in free agency would have been a better get then Butler and for the price.

I tend to think Rak and Morgan are a sub-par duo, btw. But I suspect I'm in the minority. Oh they are definitely a sub par duo.

We already have Ryan,Jackson,Tye Smith,LeShaun Sims, etc. Would've liked to have addressed the front seven and hope we do get DaQuan locked up. Seems like they are very serious about having good corners which we will definitely need if Luck returns. If they are hell bent on having a good secondary i'd like to see the safety position upgraded we can do better than Cyprien. Hoping Vrabel has his sights on making our defense great again. Maybe potentially look for Sims, Smith, and/or Reed to get some more time at SS this off-season. I think they all have dabbled a little bit at safety with the exception of Sims. He is entering the second year. Next offseason his contract will have no guarantees and he will easily be curable and also we wouldn’t retain him at a non guaranteed rate of whatever the left over would be. We found his replacement in the last guarantees year of his contract. It makes sense yeppers

You could have a HOF secondary and it doesn't mean anything without a rush. The Eagles just won the Superbowl with very little in the Secondary case in point. Another thing they did was win a SB running Chip Kelly’s offense but that is for another thread
