Very easy to argue that the nickel CB is a starting position. 3 starting CBs is basically a necessity now. I'd agree though that they need more front-7 help, notably at LB. OK, Crotchety McSnottington. Maybe just wait and see how the rest of free agency and the draft play out fully before judging? Lots of receivers out there that need defending these days too... I like Butler and think BB's decision to bench him cost the Pats the Superbowl. That doesn't change the fact the team is investing heavily in the Secondary without doing shit along the front 7. Not at all disagreeing with that sentiment, but to play devil's advocate, perhaps they see it in reverse: that our front 7 isn't all that bad and with another 1/2 sec of coverage from a solid secondary group, guys like Orakpo, Morgan and Casey will be able to get home a bit more often. Nothing in a vacuum. My front 7 concerns are more down the road in that we have 2 decent edge rushers (their fit in a new D TBD) who are just about done years if not injuries much sooner, with virtually nothing behind them. GLinks Posted March 13, 2018 Report Share Posted March 13, 2018 Front 7 will be a priority, but looking at it logically, the Titans got 40 sacks and drastically improved their coverage and minimized big plays with last year’s roster. Robinson can now be more strategic in how he improves the front 7, whether that is a LBer, Edge guy, or trench player. I get your point however I've always been of the opinion the secondary builds off the front 7 and not vice versa. You could have a HOF secondary and it doesn't mean anything without a rush.
