If there is one thing that Zelda has taught me, it's that fusing a knife to a bat is the ideal solution in this specific fight

Fuck it. I've changed my vote. Knife it is.

So what's more funny is that when I brought this up it was to all the dads at a three-year-old's birthday party.  Obviously everyone had an opinion.  Then one or two of the moms came around and was li

Looks like there has been another fight involving bats and knives. The prior one (ghetto fight) resulted in fatality but hopefully we have some more fatalities to increase the sample size for statistical analysis.

The truth is real combat is messy, awkward, and unpredictable.  It is all about the guy wielding the weapon and not the weapon itself.  This is why guys who know what they are doing avoid getting into confrontations because they know that no matter how good you are, one unlucky hit and it's all over.

Many years ago I saw a guy kicking the crap out of two guys down on second avenue.  Unfortunately for him, he stepped backwards onto a drain and tweaked his knee and went down pretty hard.  They proceeded to mess him up pretty bad before the cops got there.

When I was in Iraq, the biggest advantage we had in room clearing was training.  In close quarters combat most of the time the enemy would curl into a fetal position and fire blindly over their heads because they were scared.  The well trained infantry soldiers entered and cleared the room and put well placed controlled pairs into the body from a few feet away exactly as they had trained to do hundreds if not thousands of times for that one moment.  We were just as scared as they were if everyone is honest but the difference is the training.

Yeah but the scenario here is two equal opponents. Would you rather have a bat or a knife?

I'm guessing you would take the knife because you are probably trained with using a knife and don't have much training wielding a bat?

Honestly we don't train with bats or knives really.  Wish I could give an answer but the truth is I don't know what I would choose and in that particular fight i'm no more qualified than anyone else here.  Give me a rifle and a 100 yards and now it's my fight.  I feel pretty confident against an equal sized opponent bare handed but I wouldn't want to fight anyone with a knife or a bat if I could avoid it.

I think the trained = knife vs untrained = bat is probably as logical of an argument as i've seen on here but the truth is even with equal opponents you could probably have that same fight ten times and five times it would go one way and the other five it would go the other way.

This is kind of how I see it. I personally think people think the bat side is the answer. I don't think it's as easy to disable someone with a bat as people think. Either side is going to come out messy

Nice of a war veteran to just watch a guy get jumped.

Trump with the bat vs Hillary with the knife?

She'd just have her body guards shoot Trump. But not before passing a law into effect banning guns so Trump can't retaliate in kind.

I don't see how anyone doesn't go into any fight/battle with some sort of fear or unease about it. Maybe those who are ignorant of the repercussions of what's about to happen, maybe those who are high on some kind of drug, or those who just don't give a fuck about life either way go into it without fear. Hell, even if you have a gun and the other person has a knife there's probably still going to be some uneasiness.

Sadly enough, in this situation I would be mostly be scared of getting sued after pulling the trigger.

Sued by your would be attackers family I presume, because you wouldn't miss the kill shot.
