Absolutely nothing surprised me about today, sad to say, except that Sweat and the DL looked better than I expected. Not once this offseason or preseason did I allow positive thoughts to enter my mind. Any objective observer expected this to be a bottom 5 offense, and I've felt the same. Are there solid individual players with talent on this O? Of course, but every team has those. Frankly, I think the OL and Levis are average on a good day, and though there may be a few games here and there where they look better than this, they are simply not above average.

It IS surprising to me that their haven't been new DC young brains that have figured out how to stop this prevalence of running QBs just kicking ass over the past few years. All the brains seem to be the OCs. Every game I turn on, college or pro, definitely HS lol, defenses are just getting utterly shredded by running QBs.

Defenses are at such a disadvantage now with these rules, even very confused, erratic QBs can have enormous regular season success if they're athletic enough. Once the playoffs hit and all the bad defenses have gone home for the winter, that doesn't cut it.
