  1. Nick Caserio has assembled a hell of a squad. And I think I read where Calvin Ridley is making more than the Texans entire receiving corps or something crazy like that. If true, we're getting ripped off on that deal.
  2. OL ruined 3 straight seasons, and looks like this will be season 4. There is no excuse ..it's just poor scouting, poor decision-making and just really horrible luck. With all of draft picks and FA investments made, not one of the positions is above average. Simply as awful as it gets.
  3. This is me, exactly. I started with Sunday Ticket in '05, and this year I sadly opted out for the first time. Words can't describe how not only awful but incredibly boring the games were last year, and I have no desire to pay that much unless I see some sign of life. Show me you care, and I'll show you I care.
  4. Didn't need to to talk to either one until they felt like it. They drafted him and had a contract already. This is what Jones gets for trying to do him a favor and rip up an existing contract and make him the highest-paid non-QB of all time. He chose to hold out and act an ass in return.
  5. Dallas at least did better than we did with AJB. I wish nothing but the worst for Parsons and GB. I'm no JJ fan and he should've handled this better, but a player under contract shouldn't benefit from being a cancer and forcing their way out. Dallas should've let him sit the next two years just out of principle.
  6. Oh fuck it, just keep him on the team. We ain't winning shit anyway. At that point of the roster, you want the smallest guys possible cuz it costs less to feed them everyday.
  7. I listed to Texans sportsradio 610 for a couple of hours Saturday before the game....they were going back and forth the entire time about who they were going to be forced to release on the DL. They have so much talent there. The Texans are totally loaded on defense.
  8. Watching for Texans defense cuts. Anyone want Autry back?
  9. He's about to to face some major, sustained adversity, each play as well as over the full season, for maybe the first time ever, and I want to see how he responds to it. If he's down 28-3 in the 3rd quarter in Denver, and maybe loses the first 4 or 5 games badly, we'll find out what kind of material he's really made of. There's not gonna be anyone open by 4 or 5 yards, and this team doesn't have a talent edge against anyone we play. I expect things to be really, really bad for awhile, but time will tell.
  10. I suspect no one is going to be able to claim 100% vindication for a very long time, if ever. He will have a lot of good AND bad, and there really no point in debating it because it's done now, and we won't have a clear verdict for 2-3 years. If it were up to me, we'd be analyzing all of Carter' s pash rush moves until we're sick, focusing on what our D will look like with Simmons, Sweat, and him, and what we're gonna do with our extra 1st next year. I didn't like the decision at the time and still don't, but all I can do now is hope for the best. The idea people opposed are staying quiet because we've been silenced and proven wrong is laughable. Im not a little kid playing Madden, so I'm not gonna talk shit like an idiot after Denver week 1 either. This is a very long process.
  11. I would play everyone at least a half. No one on this team is even close to good enough to protect, except maybe Simmons. Everyone else should play. They hold all these people out, and then they look like they don't know what they're doing and immediately get injured anyway. If we were anywhere close to being a contender, that's different. Continuity and timing is important to prepare, but they treat it like it means nothing.
  12. Top to bottom, this is the most unimpressive roster I can remember. And that's before the injuries that are sure to come. I think 2 or 3 wins is very likely, and I don't see Callahan finishing the season. We have awful personnel so there isn't much he can do, but someone will have to take the fall because I really think this is team is going to get embarrassed more often than not.
  13. Manvel is only 30 mins from Cam Ward's hometown of West Columbia, depending on 288 traffic.
  14. 25% of New York Times reporters went to ivy league universities, so of course they're out of touch and unrepresentative of the country at large. Just by virtue of getting a bachelor's degree in something, journalism or whatever, media types are already out-of-step with the majority of Americans. Only about 37% of US adults have that. 10 years ago, it was about 30%. And when you go through a soft BA program like journalism, you truly are made to feel extremely smart....much smarter than everyone around you. That's where the sanctimonious, "my opinion really matters and needs to part of the story" shit comes from. In addition, nearly all of them live in NYC, DC, or LA, so there's a massive reporting bias there. An incident in Manhattan gets 100x the coverage of the same incident somewhere else, since it's like, right by my upper west side apartment!
  15. Never said that. I said we associated nooses with the old west and tried to figure out how to make them - - cowboys, bandits, train robbers, bank robbers - - the bad guys got hung. No AAs involved. Didn't really hang comanches either...they got the colt 45. it was much more fun to play the comanches though, with the arrows and tomahawks
  16. I have no idea when it became a racist symbol. growing up in Texas, any boy who found a long piece of room was immediately gonna try to make a noose. it was old west, cowboys and bandits......never had a single thing to do with racism toward AA.
  17. Not really breaking news. This has been the basic offer for years, and Rubio basically said it on Face the Nation the other day. They can have access to their own money for a civil nuclear program, with no enrichment beyond 5%, as dozens of other countries have. That's a fair deal. If they decline that offer, the regime may just be toppled.
  18. This team has flat stunk for nearly 3 years, are expected to stink this year, and have zero big-name players. Ward may change that, but as of now, I wouldn't schedule them in primetime either. When Henry left, the teams marketability went with him. If they can get to somewhere even close to .500 this year, which is a long shot, they'll maybe get 1-2 next year. Until then, they'll toil in obscurity with the CBS or FOX d-crew, regional broadcasts. Probably even 2 or 3 Beth Mowins games.
  19. Even the 5 wins I'm predicting are difficult to visualize. It's not a good roster to begin with, but a couple of injuries here and there, and this team could really stink it up. L @ Broncos L Vs Rams L Vs Colts L @ Texans W @ Cardinals L @ Raiders W Vs Patriots L @ Colts L Vs Chargers BYE L Vs Texans L Vs Seahawks W Vs Jaguars W @ Browns L @ 49ers L Vs Chiefs L @ Saints W @ Jaguars
  20. When I was a kid, I remember my dad giving me the Oilers season tickets packet from the mail. They were glossy perforated sheets where you punch the tickets out of the page., and I had no idea who they were playing until we got that, because I didn't know about the scheduling patterns, etc. It was much more fun being surprised that way. So much about the NFL has lost its magic. Partly because I'm an adult now, but also because the NFL now simply does too much, so the mystique is gone. It's just information overload, and sometimes less is more.
  21. He's confident because he hasn't seen a Titans team on the field in awhile.
  22. I went to a few UH games. This guy is absolutely atrocious. The idea he would even pose as a an NFL QB is a sad state of affairs for professional football. UH is an outmanned CFB program in every way, yet he he was actually the one guy holding them back.
