Boomers have made such a bad rep for themselves the term is all but guaranteed to become a generic insult for old assholes or just old people who are out of touch with reality. Gen X is already seeing it to some extent.

What makes the difference is credit and consistency.  The system keeps people locked into earning less than they could on their on.  People don't want to do it because it ain't easy as ILF said.  Ask him if he hustled the same way, finished his shift and took his ass h.o.m.e.  Bank that money. Today, the big number may be 100K.  You can't tell me a person cannot earn that because they do it now working for someone else.   

 

What if a guy worked 50-60-80 hrs a week for himself?  100K.  It takes one thing--discipline.  A job gives you part of what you earn, your employer makes money off you.  So, the time you spend working the employer combines with others labors doing the same thing and they make a shit ton.

 

Fear is all that stands between you and what you want.

Don't get me started.  Boomers remember grocery stores.  Manager. Cashier.  Bag boy will carry your bags to your vehicle.  One job.  Two job.  Three job.  That ain't shit for my big time ass. But those little income sources helped families.  

 

I got $0.50 a week allowance in the 1950's.(don't give me no circling the drain bs.)  The matinee movie was 0.10, hot dog 0.10, soda 0.05. popcorn 0.10--giant bag 0.15  

 

One job.  Two job.  Three job.  Do not exist.  We were dumb then.  Today we(you) is stupid.  The goal of our system was to keep the people housed and fed.  It was our system.  A chicken in every pot.
