I dont think he ever cared if he played again once he got all that money. I would go as far to say Haynsworth may have had more ambition after his big payday.

Just found it interesting that in this case Borgonzi switched course and still decided to trade up for an entirely different position. 

 

To me it just says Borgonzi has a real, thought out board, and that each player has value on their own individual merit. I mean, it's not like anyone in the outside the world knew the Titans were actively trying to move up so they had to go ahead and make a trade up to save face.

 

Maybe Rutledge was their primary target but him getting sniped put even more of an impetus to get the guy they had ranked nearly as high as Rutledge. I remember in mocks earlier during last season Faulk was seen as a top 10 pick. And Faulk just seems like a Saleh guy.

 It says they were going BPA and had several guys at positions of need in a tier they knew they needed to trade into to come away with one of them. 

 

Thats the hope at least.  If its something stupid like "the offense got a 1st rounder and i'm a DC / HC and I want a first rounder too" then we are screwed anyhow.

The anti-McNair mentality. He got booed here and really had people wanting O'Donnell to start over him. Fast-forward a number of months and he had the city hosting a parade for him and his team.

 

Watson's just baby back bitch who can't see the forest for the trees.

I'm sure that's the mentality that fueled Borgo's efforts to help build KC into multi-year champs.

This was my take on it as well. He knew his board and signed values. He didn't panic trade up to fill a spot where they just missed out on their top target. He wasn't trying to trade for the sake of it. 

 

Now, whether or not his valuation and board is accurate that's TBD. Never crossed my mind that he made a desperation trade for PR purposes or because he flippantly desired to do so.

 

He still got a desired prospect that fits the team needs at a spot that is well aligned with his current skills and potential development.

Bain is going to make half the league regret passing on him. Maybe I'm out on a limb with this but I say he'll have a better career than David Bailey.

As of use case... yes. They OCs are enthralled with ability but use them all the same most of the time. That's why Henry, even with his drops, is worth it to keep on the field above pass catching RBs on his teams,  Because 1 in 10 go for bigger gains. 

 

 

 

 

 

Mind you, I've been saying this for years just based on watching the game. It was dismissed as caping for Henry. Reason #126 why I'll never trust anyone here's analysis over my own.

Nah, I'm good on that mandatory minimum wage floor bullshit. If college players want to play in college they should stay in college. If they can't, tough shit. Either make it in the pros or go play in Canada or find another job.

 

Shit is getting a little too Over The Cuckoo's Nest these days as it pertains to NIL and the muddled waters between college and the pros.

I kind of like that. They didn't let need drive them to take a player that they saw as far inferior to their target. Chasing like that rarely works out anyways.
