Popular Post AussieTitanFan08 Posted April 28 Author Popular Post Report Share Posted April 28 On a Football Show today Braden Gall backed up Aaron Wilson's reporting from night 1 of the draft that the Titans were indeed trying to trade into the back end of the first round for an OL (Wilson reporting that it would of been Keylan Rutledge). Being intrigued in the behind the scenes mechanics of the draft when all these other teams start releasing their behind the scenes war room videos it will be interesting to see whether we can piece together how high into the back end of the first round Borgonzi was trying to get up to in his attempts to secure Rutledge. Aaron Wilson's reporting suggests the Texans caught wind of the Titans trying to trade ahead of them for Rutledge which would suggest Borgonzi was talking to teams in the pick 25-27 range. The real question is how does Wilson know Borgonzi didn't plant the info in order to catfish the Texans into taking Rutledge? Borg obviously wanted to move up for someone. What are the chances a guy who has stated his desire is to accumulate picks was actively seeking to move up for 2 different players at the back of the 1st? The Texans supposedly had interest in Keldric Faulk too. Maybe they thought they could get Faulk at 28 and then nab Rutledge with pick 38. Maybe Faulk was who the Titans really wanted all along. Maybe they thought we'd go looking for a speed rusher instead of a guy like Faulk. That doesn't make sense as when both Wilson and Gall reported the Titans interest in trading up for Rutledge it was post him being drafted so there is no smokescreen or misdirection required as he had already been selected by the Texans.
