Borgonzi is looking like the guy. He's one good draft away from me being all in.

His rise within the Chiefs organization matches their rise in success. He was there for the 2-14 Crennel season and he was there for their 7 year run of dominance. He knows what success looks like because he had a big hand in creating it and sustaining it.

You can go ahead and go all in. You'll be alright. 👍

Agreed. I am about this dialed into Borg at this point

He was never going to run the offense.

But you can look at a defensive minded head coach like Vrabel and his influence on the Titans offense and see how he strangled it into something incredibly conservative and predictable. Seems like Saleh isn’t going to be doing that shit.

That is the hope

Saleh is not going to be running the offense...obviously. But at the end of the day he's the head coach. As any head coach would he's going to have input...and ultimately veto power...to make sure the overall plan is coherent across offense, defense and special teams. If there's a decision to be made about going for it on fourth down it's Saleh's decision to make. If he needs to tell Daboll to dial it back because they're up by 3 scores in the fourth quarter he will. That's just what a head coach does and Saleh will be no different.

According to how they are talking-  he is not. They are saying- he is going to let Daball create the offensive pan independently.  That is what has been different. CEO of offense .. and all of that.

You can argue they dont realy mean that that but I hope they do. Saleh shouldn't go near the offense.  And likley- that set up is how they recruited Daboll but really.. we'll never know.

It's easy to attribute Daboll's success to his QB, but Josh Allen has been like the only successful QB project in history.  His completion % in college was only 56%, and it was up to 69% by Allen's 3rd year in the NFL.  He went from an erratic scrambler to one of the best pocket QBs in the league.  You rarely see that type of transformation.

Talent is the main reason for the turnaround, but his coach clearly put him on the right path.  He didn't just have a few good years under great circumstances; he made permanent improvements as a QB.

Based on this alone , Daboll was the perfect guy for the job.

The catch 22 with this is when he turns levis into john elway we get a haul of picks but people will still talk shit even if ward ends up as dan marino.
