Exactly my point. I was responding to a guy who has repeatedly said that teams won’t care about Tate’s production or 40 time and will only look at his film traits. 
 

The numbers paint a dramatically different picture.

The AJ Green comparison is apt except the comparisons are pointless. I can compare 100 guys to AJ Green but 99 of them weren’t him.

@oldschoolreminded me of Talley’s (ugliest POS) PI in OT and I was transported back in 1993 where I remember vividly that jerks arm over the chest of our WR and that INT that resulted in the GW FG.

 

Most deflating feeling (2000s ravens was super close) ever after a playoff game .  Basically the opposite of the Thomas Hill  look after Laetnerr hits the shot to beat Kentucky

 

 

It's crazy how similar my experience was.  I remember the power going out for me and so I missed most of the second half.  Was able to watch OT and witness that atrocious pass interference and the loss.  I also remember how any highlight shows would give a different camera angle of that play to avoid showing the PI.  It just looks like the dumbest throw a QB could make.  I think that was the first time I paid attention to an entire season and postseason, too.

I wouldn't say they're pointless, otherwise why care about Borgonzi comparing Love to Gibbs? But you're right they can be given too much weight/importance. It's not what you use to figure out whether or not to draft a guy.

Like, I promise you its more than just looking at stats.

No one ever claimed it was just looking at stats but to pretend like production isn't the first thing teams look at is pure fantasy bullshit. 

Waddle also ran a 4.3, was widely considered the best returner since Devin Hester, and had elite efficiency stats (Tate does share this, which is why he'll go in the first round and has a great chance to go top 10).

Being the number 2 on your own team doesn't give you a bump in what you produced in college. In fact, he was just as likely able to produce more because he was going up against #2s and the defense was routinely shading coverage to Smith.

I just remember the feeling of certain dread as soon as the momentum shifted in the second half and Moon and the Run and Shoot offense proved its biggest weakness of being unable stay on the field and run f’king clock. My friends and I were calling each other every few minutes: You believe this shit?!

 

I hated life for many months afterwards. In fact, if it weren’t for the Rockets, Houston would still be known as choke city. Thank god for the Super Bowl implosion by the Falcons to take some of sting off the ignominious title of “biggest playoff choke job”.
