A few signings have already leaked. I suspect they just want it to look for “legitimate” instead of the open secret that this stuff has already started in Jan-Feb. This "legal tampering" window is just so there's plausible deniability when players sign contracts in the first few mins of FA. But they've been talking to these guys for weeks, legal or not. Less guaranteed money but much higher AAV. Walker could do well in KC, re-sign for market value in year 4, and be paid a $60m+ over 4 seasons. Whereas Love could be a top 5 RB by his 3rd season and be paid like the 12th-14th best RB. Not advocating for drafting Love at 4.
