This is my biggest issue with taking Styles so early. I think you can get a player on Day 2 or even Day 3 that Saleh can coach up to do what he wants in this defense. I get that Styles is a unicorn in some ways, but you need a playmaker who is either producing big plays and scoring TDs or creating turnovers. 1 hour ago, TerryBoats said: I tried to quantify the difference that Fred Warner makes vs an average ILB, but couldn't find a definitive answer. Like, if an elite player at the position is going to take a D from worst to first like M Parsons did in Dallas, he'd clearly be worth the pick. Maybe someone can do this research for me. This is why Styles is a luxury pick for the most part that you can't really afford to take. Warner makes a big impact, but look at that offense and playcaller that are on the other side of the ball that he gets to play off of. Tate will have the far better career. There, I said it. Certainly possible. I have no idea how any of these guys will turn out, nor do I pretend to. I'm looking at them purely from a talent and draft prospect perspective based on the scouting reports, measurables, and what they actually did in college. I completely ignore all the blowhard wannabe scout BS from people watching YouTube and come away thinking they are a professional scout and can accurately project traits or pretend like they are the Nostradamus of football and know better than everyone else how guys will for sure turn out. The best though are the ones who are silent before the draft but then when a guy hits, pretend like that was their guy all along and try to take credit for picking that guy - when in reality they predicted like 100 guys and only 3 of them hit and those 3 happened to be on all the talking heads lips all offseason and that's where they actually got the inspiration in the first place. I hope you know everything I'm saying about any of these prospects is tongue in cheek. I can't even predict the next time I'm gonna have to take a shit, nevermind how a player's career is gonna go. We're all in the same boat. We're just paddling in our own individual directions. Sometimes we're paddling in the same direction, a lot of times we're not. It's why we never really get anywhere. There's really only one guy on the site here who tries to pretend like he's a pro scout and talk down to people - Titansfan. I don't take any issue with the amateur guesses. That's half the fun of this place. That's not what I'm trying to say. I was referring to all the people on youtube and across the internet right now who are trying to tell you what these guys are at the next level and just speak with absolute confidence and authority. Even the teams who draft these guys don't really know how the players are going to turn out. Some of them are better at gauging that than others, but it's all still just a gamble. The guys on the internet are trying to earn a living. That's their motivation. Not necessarily being right, but pandering to whatever seems to be the prevailing thoughts. Some try to be "edgy" by going with the 5th ranked guy instead of the 3rd ranked guy, but it's all pretty much the same. It's entertainment, so I'm not bashing it. And it can be a learning tool. But it's nothing anyone should take as gospel. 6 minutes ago, Pragidealist said: I think the Titans are there in case he falls. He has had a ton of injuries and not the minor kind.
