Love immediately makes you a more explosive team. He's going to add 10-20 TDs a year through the run and pass game. He's going to upgrade your pass protection. He's going to force teams to account for

The Jaguars gave up what again for Travis Hunter? This notion we should take less capital is kind of mind boggling. If a team wants to move then they need to pay the full price.

You talk like they'd be drafting him to be the slot or Z. He would step in as the X. Since when do your CTC/boundary receivers typically have huge YAC numbers? AJ Green's YAC numbers weren't especially great either, fwiw.

Maybe instead of asking whether or not having mid YAC numbers makes Tate a bad X, you should ask whether or not it makes Ridley a bad Z. Because his YAC numbers at Alabama were much better than they've been in the pros.

I'd have no problem with Tate at 4. He'll be a Ridley replacement next year

Hes much better than Ridley. Hes ridley if he could beat press consistently and caught 20% more of his targets.

For the Rams sitting at 13 they might not have access to the top 2 WR Tate and Lemon if they don't jump up.

Their potential trade up partners are Titans , Giants, and Commanders .  Not sure Cardinals would want to trade with them in division.

If Tate was anywhere close to being as good as Jerry Rice, he would have produced and impressed more despite sharing the field with a great WR.  JSN, Olave, and Wilson were all on the field together, and they all produced more than Tate did.  Tate had only one WR to compete with for targets.  If he was an NFL WR1, he wouldn't have played at a collegiate WR2 level.

He had more than 1 guy to comepete with in 2024 and put up good numbers as the number 3. If he didnt miss 3 games this year he was on pace for 65 catches for 1150 yards and 11 or 12 tds. He would have been able to do that with far less targets than his peers as well because he catches everything.

If they included their 2027 1st as part of the package that could also interest the Browns as they will likely be looking for their QBOTF next season.

It's good and it makes him a legit 1st round WR. But what is Tate's ceiling bc of his measurables?  We don't know. Due to his weight and speed- we can think it's probably more limited than others that are larger and faster and/or more dynamic after the catch.

100-120 catches and 1400-1600 yards.  Top end.

80-100 catches and 1200-1500 is what id expect.

60-80 1000-1200 floor.

All the so-called holes in his game just dissolve with more than a cursory look at the depth chart or box scores. But people deadlocked on us drafting somebody else aren't going to bother.

I’m in between .  Or Swiss neutral.  I’m not as vocal a hater as some .  I just would prefer an edge rusher but I won’t raise a stink if Tate is drafted.

His only 100 yard receiving games in college came against unranked opponents.  I'd expect him to be able to catch everything against weak teams who aren't overly focused on stopping him.  Going from those circumstances to being the WR1 against NFL CBs is a massive jump in competition.

Compare that to Smith, who has had 5 100 yard receiving games against Top 10 defenses in 2 years.  There's absolutely no comparison between what a Top 5 WR should be and what Tate is

Another nugget from Jeremiah today he said in conversations with teams he thinks most of the 2nd tier off the ball LB's will go in the first 12-15 picks in the 2nd round (Allen, Rodriguez, Hill and potentially Golday)

Bengals are kind of an obvious one to pick one of these second tier off ball LB.

Your discounting the usage of the two players. Tate got 60% of the targets of smith. Tate also only averaged 15 ypg less than smith with the vastly reduced target share.

I'll say this, if the Titans see him as 95% of the way you see him then there isn't a choice between Love and Tate.
