We're already in "terrible company", might as well get back to back #1 picks at the same time

I read another article talking about this very thing. Ward is probably in the absolute worst situation that a rookie QB could be in across NFL history. Basically the bottom line is that he looks compe

Not sold on Brosmear?!

I saw the “Levis” he pulled in the second quarter so no.

he also missed on 2 or 3 straight passes in a drive in the first where guys were open.

Also they just signed their GM and HC to extensions this past offseason .

Have you guys not been watching the games.

We're losing and its not because we're tanking.. we're actually trying really hard to win

Devil's Advocate:

What does McCoy get out of winning any games?  Dude was brought in for this very case as a "consultant."  There may have been some off-the-record discussion about playing overly conservative with the goal of not trying too hard to win games.  Play the rookies.  Play an offense that sticks to basic concepts - those that can be used by whatever future coaching staff... but also won't threaten to win games.

Injuries can be slow-walked.  GM can get a good look at any practice squad players around the league with live game action.  Firing of Callahan cleared the whole thing for the season.

I actually wonder how long Tomlin will stick around the Steelers .  For the past 8 yrs or so his qb have been over the hill aging qbs or young qbs who can’t play.

He’s wasting years coaching that squad.

Can Will Howard break that streak? If so he might keep hanging around.

Optimal draft order .  Titans at 1 and team 2 is almost a lock take a qb .  After that qb desperate teams w/currency to burn is behind the line and need to trade up.

you don’t want the Jets or Browns to win too much and move too further down.

Titans theoretically could trade down to 1-2,  again to 1-3 and pick up a way over draft chart value haul.  I've been low key preaching this for weeks and somehow it's still a possibility.

In terms of franchise/owner stupidity though the Browns, Jets and Raiders are at the top of the mountain and could be had.

The Saints owner Benson is nowhere in that league of fools.  They might just stay put at 3.

Yup, a dream scenario would be something like.

1. Titans

2. Saints

3. Raiders

4. Jets

With a clear number 1 qb and hopefully 1 or 2 more qbs teams like enough that we have our choice of none qbs at 3 or 4.

This would be my optimal one.  The Saints aren’t moving off two.

then you have the clown show Raiders and Jets jockeying for position to draft a qb, and the ability to make them overpay for the #1 pick.

We could probably get a young starting level player from one of these teams as well.

I wouldn't limit how far you trade back its all about getting the best trade package possible and if that comes from the Rams/Steelers/Cardinals so be it.

Should they end up with the #1 pick the one non negotiable for me is getting a 2027 1st round pick in any trade back package (I would prefer a future 1st over a second 1st round pick in this draft).

If the trade back is past pick 7 or so there should be 2 extra firsts minimum.
