I just assumed the dash was used in a grammatical sense and not as a chat gpt thing .

Other way around. Chat is built on our language but it over uses things and that's what makes it obvious.  It's just funny with all of these anti AI ppl bc of how common its being used now from everything for research, summarizing meeting notes, to writing copy and headers.
